1:1 Job Club with a Difference
Job Club seems to have a bad rap so from here on, let just refer to 'Work Support'. This is initially being run 1:1 to pilot a program for eventual group work that will only eventuate if individual outcomes can make a measurable difference, and people volunteer to sign up. So you won't be given hand outs while instructors read from a script!. Research does show job clubs can be very effective with finding work due to the element of social support, but this also comes down to how it is implemented and people engaging because they want to.
The following areas covered in this service are rehabilitation counseling competencies. This is university training that will be used to provide support for Capacity Building: Finding and Keeping a Job. To extend accessibility to this service, rates are capped at NDIS recommended pricing for 'employment supports'.
The goal is meaningful work outcomes you can independently replicate where needed in the future. Not meeting KPI's.

EFT Tapping with Work Support
'Work Support' sounds run of the mill, but this unique approach will provide access to self-regulation tools within the service to address the stress involved with finding and keeping meaningful work. The aim is to also make it fun!
DATS Work Support is an initiative that will demonstrate the benefits of how trauma-informed job providers can operate. This doesn't mean you need to disclose your personal history, it means all level of operations are transparent so you feel safe and supported accessing the service.
Why there is a need for trauma-informed job providers!
Unless you are linked with a disability employment or parenting job provider, it can be almost impossible to find a trauma-informed job provider within WorkForce Australia. This makes no sense, given the day and age we are presently living in. With cost of living pressures out of control, financial hardship and debt (e.g. surviving on welfare payments under the poverty line) is strongly associated with mental health issues that alleviate when finances are no longer an issue.
Confusion over what trauma-informed means???
1. Trauma-informed doesn't mean you have to disclose your personal history, but it does mean you have the opportunity to specify needs that ensure you feel safe and have a positive experience accessing the service.
2. Trauma-informed recognises that trauma and the human response to multiple stressors are common and services should seek to ensure they do no harm by adding to this.
3. Trauma-informed means there is an understanding of how trauma and multiple stressors dysregulate the nervous system, and how this can impact physical and mental health as well as other wellbeing factors.
4. Trauma informed does not violate your privacy by enquiring about past experiences that are not related to the service. It is up to you what you want to disclose so we can look at coordinating appropriate services on your behalf if needed.
